60 Drawr Oak Document File Cabinet. Cabinet has the "Y and E" Company logo on the brass pulls. Patent date on piece is March 30, 1888. "Y and E" Company was a furniutre Company that was founded in 1880 and operated in Rochester, NY
Rosewood Lap Desk that was in need total restoration. Work included replacing embossed paper surfaces with embossed leather, lining all interior surfaces with wine colored felt, polishing and restoring all brass, replacing missing brass with new hand cut pieces, replacing veneers in some areas, stripping and refinishing piece with 6 hand applied layers of a satin finish. This  is a chest of drawers circa 1850. The piece was originally painted. Any original imperfections were filled in with plaster and then the entire chest of drawers was painted. Sometime in the past the chest of drawers was repainted in white and a coat of blue paint was applied with a sponge.  The primary wood is pine, knobs are maple and top and bottom trim pieces are mahogany.After repair and refinishing
